Voice note for baby man

He texted me that he had a rough day.

I sent him a voice note.

He responded, “It’s so good to hear your voice.” He hadn’t even listened to the content yet. He had just heard my voice. He had no idea what would expect him.

The voice note started with, “Habibi…,” and ended with “I would’ve loved to come over to give you a hug. Just to hug you… But I would’ve loved to give you a hug. I would’ve loved to give you a hug. I would’ve LOVED to hug you. And, I hope that you’re okay at home alone. And if you’re not okay at home, then just let me know, and I will come over and give you a hug.

He video called me right after, “Go downstairs and open the door.”

“What?”

“I just received a message from the driver saying that he’s there.”

So, I went downstairs, opened the door, received a paper bag from a driver, and, back in my room, pulled out the package inside of it. It read “Vegan Cheesecake.”

He said, “If I can’t hug you and you can’t hug me, let me at least get you some dessert.”
